Meet the Founders
Jason Hayes, a master carpenter from Cape Town, and Verena Hoppe, a marketing professional from Düsseldorf, created HayHop Sunkorb to introduce authentic German Strandkörbe to South Africa.
Inspired during a windy holiday on the island of Sylt, they dreamed of bringing this cozy, wind-shielding beach chair to South African shores. Soon after, they partnered exclusively with DeVries, the leading German manufacturer known for premium craftsmanship and strict quality standards.
